Once part of Centerville, Marstons Mills was named after the Marston Family who, at one time, owned many of the mills in Centerville. The family was involved in much of the area’s history, including Nymphas Marston, who was a judge in Barnstable--it is said a decision written by him inspired Barnstable to be the only town on Cape Cod to vote against independence in 1776.
Like West Barnstable, Marston’s Mills is sparsely populated and is comprised of mostly year round residents.
